It's all about the sandbox!

Okay...so when we left TN headed for Florida to move in with my Dad, we had to leave Aly's beloved Turtle Sandbox behind. There was simply no room in the moving van...I mean NONE!!! Poor Lili hadn't even had a chance to check it out yet...well, actually she was scared to death of it...as well as everything else she encountered, but that is another story!
So, a few weeks ago David decided it was time to go in search of another Turtle sandbox. So we piled in the car and off we went. Good ole Walmart!!! They had one left!! WHOO HOOO!! That was late Saturday afternoon.
Sunday after church we decided to eat outside with plans to set up the sandbox after lunch. Aly and Lili inhaled their lunch in record time and proceeded to drive us crazy to hurry up and finish our lunch. They finally decided to take matters into their own hands. And did a fine job if I do say so myself!! Check out the first video:

Aly started out dragging the base out into the yard...
Lili followed with the lid...

I couldn't believe that Lili could actually hold up her end...but she did!

Ah....the perfect spot!

Don't forget the lid...

What's gonna work? TEAMWORK!!!

Sisters...Sisters...there were never such devoted sisters!!! Devoted to getting that sandbox up and running anyway!!
And here is the final video. Apologies for my dear hubby who cannot remember how to say "I love You" in Mandarin, but babbles forever in FRENCH!!! ???? Gotta love it

It's just killing me to see your girls in shorts and t-shirts playing in a sandbox! We are still in winter coats and pants, etc. But we're getting there, it's supposed to be 45 today. :-)

Great pics! How much sand is now OUT of the sandbox and IN your house? LOL

Hey Eileen!
We have had a few cool days...in the 60's...but it is generally wonderful! I wish it would stay like it is now all year round!
As far as sand in the house, they are generally pretty good about shaking most of it off before they come in. I usually send them right to the bathtub to take their clothes off and then I just hose them down with the shower sprayer while they are in there.
I hope you guys get some warm weather soon. :-)

Oh, that is just priceless. I love it that they did not get frustrated. What patience. I am very impressed. Wish we were closer so we could make some sand pies!

That is TOO cute. I'm glad to hear I'm not the only one who has a well, rather timid kid!

Looks like fun! It is late now, but I'll watch the videos tomorrow. :-)

Finally watched the videos. The one where they are getting the turtle out of the box is funny, but I'm absolutely in tears laughing at Lili saying, "Bye-bye in Chinese." That was hilarious!
