Get out the tissue!!!! This is gonna blow you away!!

Okay...so I was surfing the web this morning before the munchkins woke up and through a series of divine clicks of the mouse I ended up at the blog of one my favorite speakers. The lovely Ms. Lysa TerKeurst of Proverbs 31 ministries. I thought..."Cool...I will see what is going on in her world today and what wonderful stuff I can glean from her" Lysa always has some wonderful little pearls of wisdom that God has shown her, so I excitedly clicked away. I was reading in her biography about her and it mentioned her five kids. FIVE KIDS???? WHEN DID THIS HAPPEN??? SHE HAS THREE KIDS...OH MY>>>SHE HAS HAS TWINS?????

I began to dig more and the answer was soon staring me in the face. Nope...Lysa hasn't had twins, but God has indeed blessed her family with two more children. God's miracle of adoption has decended upon the TerKeurst family in a BIG way!!!

Okay...so as I began to watch the video and see the story unfold, I could barely see the computer screen for the steady stream of tears that were rolling down my face. It is an amazing story that I want to share with you all. Some of you may already have heard her story, but as most of you know, we have been living in a large HOLE for the last 18 or so months...so I missed it!!

It just amazes me to no end how God works in his children's lives when we are open to allowing him to do so. How many times I have heard it said that "God is a gentleman and will never force himself upon us". It is so true!! I can't imagine having missed the miracle of adoption in our lives and I imagine that Lysa and her husband feel the same way! God's way is not always the easy path, but the end result is so incredible!!!

To everyone reading this blog entry today. Please just stop and ask God to show you how he wants to use you today!! It may be something small or it may be "life interupted" like Lysa says, but it will ALWAYS bring amazing Glory to God and it will always bring amazing blessings to your life in the end!!

So now...click here and watch the videos for yourself. This link goes directly to the post and it is titled "The Oprah Show" WARNING...have tissues handy!!

how to make crayons... with Aly and Lili...

I used to do this all the time when I was a nanny. I became a Mom and forgot all about it!!! Then I saw this on another blog and decided to go for it as we had an over abundance of broken crayons. So, without further ado...

How to Make Crayons...with Aly and Lili

Okay, so I forgot to get pictures of taking all of the paper off of the crayons. Suffice it to say it was a MESS of the first order!! Gotta love it :-)

Ready to start filling the tins
Excuse me...did you just say Modify????
All ready to go into the oven...
Lili vacuums up the floor while we wait for them to melt. She is my little floor helper!
Just out of the oven...now they need to cool!

The Big Reveal!!

Yes, they really work, but my girls prefer to use them as blocks instead of crayons.
Go figure!!!
I keep finding them in tall stacks all over the living room.
Have a great week!!!

It's all about the sandbox!

Okay...so when we left TN headed for Florida to move in with my Dad, we had to leave Aly's beloved Turtle Sandbox behind. There was simply no room in the moving van...I mean NONE!!! Poor Lili hadn't even had a chance to check it out yet...well, actually she was scared to death of it...as well as everything else she encountered, but that is another story!
So, a few weeks ago David decided it was time to go in search of another Turtle sandbox. So we piled in the car and off we went. Good ole Walmart!!! They had one left!! WHOO HOOO!! That was late Saturday afternoon.
Sunday after church we decided to eat outside with plans to set up the sandbox after lunch. Aly and Lili inhaled their lunch in record time and proceeded to drive us crazy to hurry up and finish our lunch. They finally decided to take matters into their own hands. And did a fine job if I do say so myself!! Check out the first video:

Aly started out dragging the base out into the yard...
Lili followed with the lid...

I couldn't believe that Lili could actually hold up her end...but she did!

Ah....the perfect spot!

Don't forget the lid...

What's gonna work? TEAMWORK!!!

Sisters...Sisters...there were never such devoted sisters!!! Devoted to getting that sandbox up and running anyway!!
And here is the final video. Apologies for my dear hubby who cannot remember how to say "I love You" in Mandarin, but babbles forever in FRENCH!!! ???? Gotta love it

The BIG Catch-Up!!

Okay...so it has been a while since I last posted. I'm sorry...it has been crazy with one thing or another. Most times I just couldn't find the camera to transfer some pictures and then we lost the cable to transfer the pictures to the computer! FOUND IT...whoooo hooo!!!!
Anyway, our little corner of the world is still rolling along. Rather than make 50 posts to catch up, I decided to do one big catch-up post with lots of pictures. Here are some of the highlights since last we met...
We got a new haircut!
We wished we had enough hair to GET a haircut, but looked stunningly beautiful anyway!!

We tried to decide which hat look the most amazing with our princess dress...

We finally decided on this one!

We caught a cold and had to rest a lot on the couch. Big sister Aly took good care of me and covered me up so I could watch tv all warm and snuggly!

Of course, then she stole most of the cover to cover herself up on the floor!! Oh well...gotta love sisters!

We got a new sandbox!!! We are so happy!!

We flatly refused to either chew or swallow our delicious peas!! Yep...you guessed it...Mom won that battle!!
We love to pose in our big sisters shoes...and a diaper of course!
Gosh, I think I could be a ballerina with moves like this!!!

We tried to determine who had the biggest lips.
We decided that it didn't matter...much more fun just to laugh with Dad!!
We got confused as to whether we came from China or Japan.
We decided that the highchair is the best seat in the house...even when you are four!
We played on the water bottles in the kitchen
Forget ballet, let just go for gymnastics like Aly!!
We thought that the dog bowl would make a lovely pill box hat!
We found new and exciting ways and places to color in our coloring books!
...and finally...we passed out in the highchair while eating dinner. Lili was so tired that she forgot to take her hand out of her food!
I have a few more pictures and some video that I will post later. In the meantime, enjoy these!!
